We Can Control Tree Fungus with Fungicide
Trunk injections of a fungicide into an Elm tree (see at right) is a good way to control Dutch Elm Disease. This can also be used to control Anthracnose in Oaks and Sycamores and Bacterial Leaf Scorch (BLS) in oaks.
We can perform trunk injections of insecticides can help control the following insects:
Hemlock Woolly Adelgids (HWA)
Emerald Ash Borer (EAB)
many other sucking/chewing insects
Trunk injections of insecticides provide the quickest take-up by the tree.
In addition to insecticides and fungicides, we can inject nutrients directly into the xylem of a tree. Some trees have an inability to take up micronutrients such as Iron because of incorrect soil pH, compaction, waterlogged soil, etc. This lack of Iron is called Iron Chlorosis and it manifests itself as yellow leaves, leaving the tree unable to photosynthesize properly. Direct injection of Iron into the xylem is the quickest and most efficient way of adding this essential nutrient.
